Now that the cold weather is upon us, you might feel like staying at home under a nice warm blanket, but actually there are plenty of hikes that are suitable for even the coldest of days. By the sea or in the mountains, the regions of Barcelona are full of spots that almost always catch some sun and where you can enjoy your surroundings in pleasant temperatures! Are you keen to discover them?

We do not always need to climb a tall mountain or embark on a very demanding hike to find magical spots. Sometimes, the places we imagine when we think of disconnecting are closer than we think, and getting there doesn't require much effort. If you need to breathe in some fresh air but are not feeling very fit or are short on time, here are some recommendations that will leave you with no excuses. The six routes we describe below are easy, and you will need only one to three hours ahead of you to enjoy nature and some heritage sites. You will barely break a sweat!

Autumn. The cool air begins to fill the environment and the light fades earlier each day. These are the days when many trees shed their leaves or their tops are tinged with ochre and red. This is undoubtedly a remarkable time to visit the forests, not only to collect mushrooms, but also to fully enjoy a captivating landscape with unbeatable colours. Here are five of these fantastic places in the regions of Barcelona. 

<p>On foot or by bicycle.</p>

The Via Blava Anoia is a perfect option for nature lovers and outdoor sports enthusiasts. With a route of about 19 kilometers, this gentle mobility trail follows the course of the Anoia River from Jorba to la Pobla de Claramunt, passing through villages and natural areas that allow you to discover the region in a different way. Whether on foot or by bike, it is an ideal one-day excursion, easily combined with cultural and gastronomic stops.

Autumn is the season of warm colours. Forests become magical places of orange, red and yellow where mushrooms of all colours spring up among the fallen leaves. We’ve lined up six walking routes to enjoy at this time of year.
